Brain Training Report – Spencer – Session 1

Session number: 1

Average n-back: 3.85

Duration (estimate in minutes): 20

Hi. I finally did my first session today. I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time, but I guess I’ve just been pushing it off…probably because I really want it to be successful and I’m afraid it won’t be. I did the first stage “Double Ahead”, with a score of 3.85. One thing I really noticed was the desire for the software to go faster. I tend to think way too fast for my own good, so I’m not sure if that’s just me or a lot of people experience it.

I’m really looking forward to this program to see if it can help me reduce some of my learning disabilities, as well as help with my overall thinking process. I’ll post a little more about myself tomorrow when I post the results.

A quick question. If I “finish” a section, but it only took twenty minutes, does that mean I should stop or should I have continued working in the other sections?

Thanks,

Spencer

    Hi, Spencer.

Congratulations on getting going. The training is designed to require one session at a sitting. The sessions are shorter at first and gradually build. By the time you reach Stage 3 each session will take upwards of 25 to 30 minutes and will be very intense.

Similarly even though the training “speed” remains the same as you move through the levels, you’ll be required to focus harder and remember more and it will seem faster.

(There’s also an advanced option in the Settings panel that allows you to change the speed.)

    Martin
