Working-Memory Training Report – Scott – Session 14

Session number: 14

Average n-back: 5.95

Duration (min.): 30

I felt ok today.

I tried splitting the larger groups into smaller blocks. For my last few rounds i was on n=7 and i did 4 and 3 and I managed to stay there for a few rounds. So i think that’s helping.

I see what you mean about the difficulty of 6 and not having uneven groups martin. When they’re the same size it’s much more difficult to switch concentration between the two groups in your head.

First time i’ve gotten above 5.60 after sitting between 5.50 and 5.60 for 4 or 5 sessions. :)

Congratulations Scott on reaching 5.95 as your average!!! Also, congrats on sticking with n=7 for a couple of blocks. You could probably do that again, if you have to.

It seems you and I use difference chunking strategies. Interestingly, when I do n=6, I DO have uneven groups (to the extent that I use chunking). That is because at n=6 I remember five positions only. For me it’s n=7 that has uneven groups, because I remember six positions only.

    Warm regards,
    Shaun
