I recently ended my experiment with doubled up daily sessions of regular dual n-back and “nines.” Although I wanted to see how far I could push it, other things got in the way. I’ve since reverted to one session per day, five days per week, alternating regular dual n-back and “nines.”
My scores continue to vary dramatically and today I reached a new high score at “nines” of 10.85. (I was even contemplating not training at all today because I felt time-pressured — an impulse I always try to ignore!)

What are “nines”
Hi there.
“Nines” is an exercise in our upcoming training suite. We have a new training program in the works that will be primarily online for convenient access and will include benefits such as guided meditation and brain entrainment audio.
“Nines” is a variation of the dual n-back exercise in which the auditory matches use numbers that sum to 9. So, the pairs are 1 and 8, 2 and 7, 3 and 6, 4 and 5… It’s a nice twist that requires a different kind of basic processing for the auditory pair recognition.
