Mind Evolve Software Introduces Mind Sparke BFP Junior
Brain-Training Software for Children 6 thru 12
NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Mind Evolve Software, a leading publisher of brain-training software, today announced the launch of Mind Sparke BFP Junior. This new consumer software for children trains working memory, focus, and attention -- core brain functions that are key to a child's success in school.
Junior uses novel and engaging brain games to strengthen visual and aural working memory, automatically adjusting to a child's age and current ability. Working memory training increases fluid intelligence, boosts test scores, and improves attention in school.
"We're very excited to release a brain training program for children," said Martin Walker, Founder and CEO of Mind Evolve Software. "Too often children get labeled as inattentive or slow when the right tools will build up their core mental strength allowing them to keep up or excel."
Walker's team set out to design a program that would retain the essential features of its adult brain training program Brain Fitness Pro, (Brain Fitness Pro improves adult fluid intelligence by 40% in less than 20 days). Adding colors, sound clips, age and speed adjustment, as well as a wide array of fun themes, the team produced a set of four games that will engage and benefit any child from 6 through 12-years-old.
Recent research confirms that working-memory capacity, not IQ, predicts academic success from as young as four years-old. Children with working memory impairment find it difficult to remember instructions and complete tasks, thereby putting their academic success at risk. Learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, and developmental coordination disorder, exhibit a similar link to working memory. And while psychologists used to believe that mental abilities could not be trained, recent studies have proven otherwise.
"This is a very practical tool for any child," added Walker, "The science is way ahead of most of the educational establishment in this area. It's still the norm to hand out accommodations for learning dysfunctions instead of providing the assistance a child needs to strengthen the areas that a weaker. Or to praise a child for innate ability when in fact she could be even more accomplished."
With no need to connect to the Internet to train and unlimited use for all children in a family, the software helps remove barriers to success for those who have less.
