Brain Training Report – Lizzit

Stage: 1

Session number: 1

Average n-back: 5.1

I had a severe head injury following a traffic accident where someone effectively ran a red light bumped me over whilst I was dutifully waiting for a light to change. I had to relearn how to walk and sit up and there has been a negative effect on my ability to access some memories. Gosh, now I know how normal people forget stuff having been forced to be below normal for two weeks and normal for another two. 6 weeks later, I find I need to push the envelope because eeew, scoring lower on the IQ test really bugged me. I scored 132 on the 1973 Weschler child exam, but only 125 last week on the WAIS-IV. Being 5.3% lower than I used to be sticks in my craw; I desire as of yesterday was to attain being within 2%. How jolly good to discover I might just exceed my old score! Challenges envelope me, this will be quite a kool game to play for the next year. Interestingly, fluid intelligence whupped up a notch last week just by hanging out with five other people scoring 2+ standard deviation from the norm. I recall learning music was much faster when I hung out with musicians better than myself. For those of you pushing the envelope, consider spending significant periods of time with people better than yourself at IQ/music.

Brain Training Report – Tom G – Stage 2, Session 3

Stage: 2

Session number: 3

Average n-back: 3.65

I am on Level 2 and having a difficult time working the n-4 sessions so I keep moving down to n-3. For some reason that extra factor in the sequence trips me up. But I keep working at it.

Stage: 1

Session number: 3

Average n-back: 4.35

My original BFI was 147 and dropped to 136. I’m not sure how the BFI is calculated before one even begins… still trying to figure out how this website is laid out. I’m finding the website generally a bit confusing nonetheless, doing the exercises. I completed Stage one in two days. Not sure if that was how I was supposed to do that… Oh well, I keep reading through the site and trying to follow the instructions.

Brain Training Report – yuliya – Stage 3, Session 1

Stage: 3

Session number: 1

Average n-back: 2.35

I liked it. Challenging, but I could feel my brain working out, similar to a muscle “hurting”, which motivated me a great deal. I shall stick with it and post here later. I have a question, however. Is to OK to practice a stage or two before training? Or is it counter-productive? Thank you so much for all your work and this program! I have already recommended you to several of my friends.

Average n-back: 5.2

It was pretty easy at first, but became really difficult as the training progressed. It didn’t help that my husband was trying to confuse me while training, calling out random letters. I’d like to know if this is a “good” score or a “bad” one.

Something odd – Edward

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Stage: 3

Session number: 12

Average n-back: 3.6

Hi,

I was in the midst of a training session (N=3) and was getting almost full scores on most blocks but when I progressed to the next block, I ended up with 17 errors and only 1 correct response. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Also, I have noticed an improvement in problem-solving abilities amongst other things (even though my training has been somewhat sparse).

Many Thanks,

Edward

Woot. Advanced to N4 from N3 on the final (20th) block with 10 hits and 2 errors. It really does begin to click despite the initial frustration.

Brain Training Report – Miguel – Stage 2, Session 2

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Stage: 2

Session number: 2

Average n-back: 5.4

So i’m back on track. Was able to go up to 6n on the first exercise and to 4n in the second. I’m exercising daily, keeping my brain active with chess, go, logic and math, reading lots, sleeping well. I’ve cut down on coffee (from 4 cups a day to 2) and drinking green/black tea instead, and lots of water. I’m feeling great. Wide awake, active, and im starting to notice improvements in memory… I feel quite agile and am very motivated :-)

Thanks for the great program!

Brain Training Report – Arvid – Stage 3, Session 13

Stage: 3

Session number: 13

Average n-back: 2.7

I’ve started to feel comfortable with n3, and only a little step until I feel the same with n4. This slack of improvement is because, I have taken breaks, that have made it from being better to better, to stop the improvement at the beginning point, in the session, that could have been my new approach to the next manage. In my training I have to be clear with my training times, that I also do for every day. I have seen it makes it whole better if doing that, for the improvements in this and for my well being in my life out of this. When I now only get better, have I noticed that my piano playing, my learning in school, when I play tennis, my life have in all directions become more of what I want – it have become better.
