So i’m back on track. Was able to go up to 6n on the first exercise and to 4n in the second. I’m exercising daily, keeping my brain active with chess, go, logic and math, reading lots, sleeping well. I’ve cut down on coffee (from 4 cups a day to 2) and drinking green/black tea instead, and lots of water. I’m feeling great. Wide awake, active, and im starting to notice improvements in memory… I feel quite agile and am very motivated

I’ve started to feel comfortable with n3, and only a little step until I feel the same with n4. This slack of improvement is because, I have taken breaks, that have made it from being better to better, to stop the improvement at the beginning point, in the session, that could have been my new approach to the next manage. In my training I have to be clear with my training times, that I also do for every day. I have seen it makes it whole better if doing that, for the improvements in this and for my well being in my life out of this. When I now only get better, have I noticed that my piano playing, my learning in school, when I play tennis, my life have in all directions become more of what I want – it have become better.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to create the perfect serene environment for maximum concentration.

At the moment, I switch off the lights, turn on two aromatherapeutic candles and put the screen on “full screen”.

Is this an effective way of training or is it bad for my eyes?

I’d love to hear your methods and what you find to be the best way to get the most out of your training.

regards,

Hi,

I’ve just done my first session of stage 3. I kept fluctuating between n=3 and n=2. As I progressed through the session, I noticed it became harder to concentrate and I certainly became almost more confused (n=2 seemed harder to do even though I got them all correct for most of them). It was somewhat hypnotic.

Is this normal and is it a good sign……..or have I just worn myself out?

Many Thanks

YES! i went to a new level. I was able to stick to n3 for a bit and then bounced to n4 for a bit. WOW! my brain was on fire. serious training today. I can feel this working so well. I even finished another book, and zipping through one after the other. My wife is amazed at all the reading i’m doing. I told her at age 50, i’m playing catch up. it feels so good. Thank you Martin and Mind Sparke. wow. what a difference. I’m sleeping better, more focused. totally different frame of mind than before i started this. my writing has gone through the writer’s block. i’m ecstatic. I was getting bummed because stage 3 was tough and today, well actually it was yesterday had a slight breakthrough and now today…BOOYAH! YES! Thank you GOD! I feel like a million bucks.

Hi Guys,

Today was excellent as far as Dual N-back training. I have just completed session 15 with an average N-back of 5.5.

The reason I decided to post is because I didn’t drop below an N-back level of 5. In my previous trainings, I would have no problem getting up to N-6, but as soon as I lost concentration, I would dip down to N-3, and even N-2 in some cases.

And the downward spiral would continue. Today was different; when I dropped from an N-6 level, I stopped and calmed my nerves.

I focused on breathing – trying to maintain 6 deep breaths per minute, and cleared my head of all distractions before I started another trial.

A big part was clearing my mind of the previous round, and totally submerging myself in the present. If in mid-round, my thoughts wandered, I ‘zoomed’ into the grid in front of me and forced myself to concentrate on what was directly in front of me.

Consistency is so important in all aspects of life. I knew I had to conquer inconsistency with by N-back trials in order to mentally grasp what consistency feels like. The focusing and re-focusing that comes with mental consistency will translate into other areas of my life. Before today’s session, I didn’t fully understand how to perform that task.

Thanks,

Kevin
