Brain Training Report – Catherine B – Stage 4, Session 21

Stage: 4

Session number: 21

Average n-back: 3.8

Hello,
I am now in stage 4 (nines), but I often switch to stage 3 because the stage 4 refuses to open a new session. Is it because it is required to train more in stage 3 in order to continue to improve in stage 4 ? Everyday, I notice a progress in my averages (stage 3 and 4) even if the progresses are very small and this is great. Thank you for clarifications.

Brain Training Report – Slight improvement in stage 3

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Stage: 3

Session number: 3

Average n-back: 3.35

I finally made it past n=3 for my average! highest i got was 3.35. I only was able to pass 4 once but completely screwed up and lost track of the sequence when i got to 5.0 got 11 errors..-__-.

I have been constantly drilling on this almost every day but i don’t really see much of an improvement on my performance at school and in my life. Is it suppose to feel the effects or is it indirectly shown through my performance in school and work?? Perhaps i should do another IQ test because before i did serious training using Mindsparke my IQ was at 100 sadly:( Im wondering if i till shoot up after several weeks using this program.

Stage: 3

Session number: 11

Average n-back: 3.75

N3s are usually 12/0 or 11/1 now. Mostly bouncing from N3 to N4. Had two successive N5 blocks, but that was it. N4 still gives me trouble; oft times I feel I have the capacity to keep up, but end up losing place during the block.

Stage: 3

Session number: 3

Average n-back: 3.2

I just started this program on Sunday and I’m already pleasantly surprised by the improvements I’ve made. On my first attempt at stage 3 I had trouble passing n=2, and n=3 seemed impossible. Two days later I can pass n=3 most of the time, with a few perfect scores. I also reached n=5 once. I actually look forward to doing these exercises everyday to see how much I can improve. It’s still too early to say if other aspects of my life have been affected but nonetheless it’s an addicting and great program.
However, I do have a question about the BFI. How long before the original score settles? It appears to be moving up but it’s also lower than my current BFI.

I can’t seem to get beyond 2.5. It’s very frustrating.does anyone have any tips, please apart from me having to accept that I’m starting from a comparatively low base!

I have to say that this is a great program. I’ve gotten stuck on this one. Some people wonder how I know all sorts of things, while I’m wondering how to get past 5 on this thing. But nothing is impossible; I’ll make it there eventually. (P.S. I’M A BANANA!!! Sorry. ADD.)

This was a good one – well-rested, meditated first, fairly clear mind. Finally got past N-4 to N-5 (although have not yet attempted).

Woot. Advanced to N4 from N3 on the final (20th) block with 10 hits and 2 errors. It really does begin to click despite the initial frustration.

So i’m back on track. Was able to go up to 6n on the first exercise and to 4n in the second. I’m exercising daily, keeping my brain active with chess, go, logic and math, reading lots, sleeping well. I’ve cut down on coffee (from 4 cups a day to 2) and drinking green/black tea instead, and lots of water. I’m feeling great. Wide awake, active, and im starting to notice improvements in memory… I feel quite agile and am very motivated :-)

Thanks for the great program!
