Stage: 3

Session number: 20

Average n-back: 3.4

completing brain fitness pro while my mind is firmly in ‘right brain’ creative mode works 100 times better than before. With the meditation and then visualising for example, a beautiful piece of nature e.g. a shell, allows me to stay in right brain mode for each block and stay in the moment, which reminds me a lot of the optimal performance state for music performance (and probably for other types of performance too). Wow, this session really linked the brain training pro with my other kinds of brain training e.g. neurofeedback etc.. optimal performance training ideas and so forth.

Brain Training Report – nale – Stage 3, Session 12

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 12

Average n-back: 2.5

Had a very good start – went from n=2 to n=4 in 3 blocks and then hovered at n=3 for a bit then lost the focus and ability to mentally visualise and aurally represent the patterns…got mixed up mentally every time I switched between n=2 and n=3 and even bombed out on some n=2 sessions..arg…mental stamina here we come. Somehow feeling wooly headed today..perhaps cos of lack of sleep and on the edge of the flu/a cold..all this seems to affect mental agility:) surprise, surprise!

Brain Training Report – nale – Stage 3, Session 11

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 11

Average n-back: 2.7

Exciting session today..started at n=4 and spent a lot of time jumping then between n=3 and n=2 but getting several n=3 sessions in a row. Felt that n=3 was making sense to my brain and i could keep track of the visual and auditory patterns in a sliding fashion to gain better accuracy. At the end, felt like i could do that for a bit at n=4 too! strange feeling..it seems somehow obvious that my brain can/could cope with such memory work in an active fluid environment. In fact the joy of being in the moment of doing these exercises is now becoming more of the point than ‘trying’ to always better my score. Staying in the moment works a million times more effectively in managing and improving at the exercises.

Brain Training Report – nale – Stage 3, Session 10

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 10

Average n-back: 2.5

Secret to improving is (I think)not to be ‘trying’ to improve, instead to stay in the moment in each block and let all else fade into the background. I could feel how that really helped, especially when changing between n=3 and n=2 which notoriously messes me up. I can notice a conscious decision in my everyday life, to stay in the moment and that I am acknowledging to myself how important it is to be in the ‘now’ totally and not only with half my attention. Which is a very good thing. I notice that I was getting lazy about being totally in the ‘now’ and instead tending to try and multi-task between the present with thoughts about the past and future in my head at the same moment:)

Brain Training Report – Aaron – Stage 3, Session 32

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 32

Average n-back: 3.30

My best session so far. The best advice is not to get discouraged on level 3. It is constantly 2 steps forward 1 step back 2 steps forward 3 steps back process. I am finally over 3 every time but it took a lot of sessions, with a few cuss words, to get to this point. Good luck!

Question – Ed

Stage: 3

Session number: 9

Average n-back: 3

Hi,

If I miss a few days of training, is it worth doing a few more sessions for the next day possible?

Will this help or just be too much?

Many Thanks,

Ed

Creating an optimum environment.

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 1

Average n-back: 2.5

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to create the perfect serene environment for maximum concentration.

At the moment, I switch off the lights, turn on two aromatherapeutic candles and put the screen on “full screen”.

Is this an effective way of training or is it bad for my eyes?

I’d love to hear your methods and what you find to be the best way to get the most out of your training.

regards,

John Chalmers.

Question – Ed – Stage 3

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 1

Average n-back: 2.5

Hi,

I’ve just done my first session of stage 3. I kept fluctuating between n=3 and n=2. As I progressed through the session, I noticed it became harder to concentrate and I certainly became almost more confused (n=2 seemed harder to do even though I got them all correct for most of them). It was somewhat hypnotic.

Is this normal and is it a good sign……..or have I just worn myself out?

Many Thanks

Ed

Brain Training Report – Aaron – Stage 3, Session 24

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

Stage: 3

Session number: 24

Average n-back: 3.25

I finally did it! I averaged over 3 for the first time on stage 3. I could tell when the session began that I was feeling it tonight. Why can I not feel like that all of the time? Very excited to see progress! I guess the next goal is to average 3.50 than the big one 4.0 which seems impossible at this point.

Do not give up, keep working!!!!!
