Brain Training Benefits – New UCLA Study

UCLA researchers Dr. Karen Miller and Dr. Gary Small, both at the Semel Institute, received the Blue Ribbon Award (for methodological rigor, merit, and potential impact on the science and practice of clinical neuropsychology) at American Psychological Association’s Annual Convention for a new study on the benefits of brain training.  Their research showed regular brain fitness training led to significant improvements in memory and language for a group of senors.  Those who undertook regular brain training for six-months enjoyed much more improvement in memory and language skills, compared to a second group who trained infrequently.

This is the latest in a recent string of research studies showing that brain fitness tools can benefit language and memory and perhaps help reduce age-related memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease.
